Mabul, Mataking and Kapalai are a few famous islands that tourist from all over the world land in Semporna for, and I a fellow Sabahan has never set foot in these islands, regrettably. BUT I did manage to go 2 not so well known but equally beautiful island last week as part of the YMM Tawau Installation package.
So as a celebratory trip for the end of my last paper for the whole of 3 years, I went water rafting for the very first time.
The trip from Kota Kinabalu to Kiulu was about 1 hour drive.

Beautiful Borneo, beautiful Sabah. If you still dont know where this place is, you're in luck, cause today I will win you over with my geography, with a little help from my friend google. Oh, and before we knock ourselves off with the maps, lemme just briefly tell you that today's post will be about Kudat, an amazing place for those who love the wind, clouds, sea, and sunset (and what you can do to kill time while waiting for the sun to set)
So the map of Sabah resembles the head of a dog, and Kudat is where the Tip of Borneo is at (that's the place you watch the sunset) is literally what we locals would say is at the doggy's ear. No, im not kidding. Sooo... here we go~

So I climbed Mt.Kinabalu for the second time on 20th Jan 2014, Monday. Never done a post on my first trip up cause I had no good photos, my phone camera was shitty, I didn't wanna bring any extra weights (camera) and yap lost his camera to the mountains, on the peak actually. So *poof* there goes all our pictures.
BUT I HAVE PROOF!!
The first time up was with my F6Sc classmates in 2012. We went up using the Mesilau road which is around 2km longer than Timpohon road. But more lush and greenery.
This time there's 5 of us. 2 of my good friends from Form 6, my lil sis and her friend.
Now let the pictures guide you through!
1) we've got the mountain
Oh and if you've got a sabahan ic "12" your fees for climbing mt.k is MUCH cheaper
2) the sea
3) hobbies include watching the sunset, and sunrise (if you're an early riser)
So top 3 just explain how chill we are...
4) we barely have haze, and if we do its cause of our fantastic neighbors (note the sarcasm).
White clouds, Blue Sky. What's not to love?
5) everyone lives peacefully, no Indian, Chinese, Malay, Bumi shits. We're all SABAHANS, geddit?
6) we're so mixed you can start calling everyone "Sino", and no, we will not be offended .
Sino is a term we used to call mix-raced. Sino-kadazan (chinese + kadazan), Sino-dusun (chinese + dusun). Okay, you get the idea.
7) Epitome of peace.
If you don't agree with me, look back to no.1, 2, 3 & 4 how can you not feel peaceful looking at those pictures. Also, thanking god everyday for the fantastic location, which saves us the headache and worries of natural disaster. No tectonic plates beneath meeeeee.
And also we're just so chill that outside matters does not really affect us.
I.e bersih 2.0, yea we have that, we even took pictures with the police
Sulu invasion - after the 1st time we realise nothing is ever gonna happen. You dont wanna invade us, we're so nice and harmless :3
8) we just need our IC to travel around Malaysia, not passport.
This is thanks to the Perkara 20 (20 agreement or something) about how Sabah and Sarawak have their own jurisdiction over immigration law.
9) Great Seafood
because, there are so many places around the world that has great seafood as well, hence we must win the crowd over with not only our seafood but....
10) Exotic food.
Below are just a few of the exotic meat and food you can find in KK, there are many more from where these came from and also a variety of ways to cook it. Looking at these picture makes me hungry.
Okay, pictures does not do these food justice. The flavour, taste, texture *happy sigh* gotta try it to know it ;)
Basically KK is just a city but minus skyscrapers and top-notch transportation system, with it's easy going people and just a pretty chill city.
Well, I'm sure there are so much more reason that it's great to be a Sabahan than this. if there's anything else I miss out do comment below so I can add it in! :)
