Last weekend I went to Port Dickson with my sis and CZ for a selection camp organised by Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS). Considered myself one of the lucky ones who managed to get to go cause apparently there were a lot that applied for it and from there they shortlist it to a thousand to take the psychology test (which all Sabahan and Sarawakians were excepted to take cause it was held in Putrajaya) and through that psychology test only 200 participants were selected to join this Selection Camp.
At first, we thought we didn't manage to get pick cause there was no news about anything for around 3 months, and then one fine morning, we received an email.
I'm sorry for not updating last week, and I have a super good reason for it. I sprained my shoulders, I have no idea how but I did. And it hurts like a bitchh, I literally couldn't lift my hand, someone had to feed me. First time i ever felt such excruciating pain, the experience made me realized how important each and every part of your body is, it's just my shoulders but getting out of bed was a torture, I mean I never did realise how one part can affect all the others. This too gave me an insight on how disabled and injured feels. How it feels like a burden to everyone around you and yet equally helpless in that sense cause you simply can't do anything on your own. Point being, take care of your body and be more sensitive towards the people around you especially those that needs a little help. Oh, and many thanks to those who checked up on me, making sure I take my meds and updating me on whatever I missed in class, much appreciation and love. And my sister who called me a T-rex for my condition, thanks for trying to make me laugh and lighten up the mood with stupid T-rex bump,T-rex five and some seriously lame T-rex jokes.... though I know you'll never read this.
Never had I ever run 10km, in the dark, in the middle of the night in my whole 23 year old life until 1st of March 2015.
Took my race-kit a day before at Karambunai Nexus Resort, another 5 star hotel you can find in the outskirts of KK, overlooking the beach.
Race started around 12.35am and for the 10km category we were suppose to finish it in 2 hours time only then can we get the medal. But while waiting for the time to pass, cause my friends and I were there by 10 plus, we went to play with glow paint and got our glow sticks.
Didn't manage to take much pics cause I was pretty much just focus on running and breathing, trying not to trip and fall or pass out. Honestly, I'm not much of a runner the only reason I joined was cause it's a "dark run" being a necrophiliac and all, obviously that intrigued me. It was pretty fun to run in the dark, with only the stars to guide you and the moon illuminating the pathway, and err... the occasional head torch blinding you.
A great experience all in all, but a bit pricey, I mean there's a lot I can do with RM 90.
So as promised, I went back Kudat for the second time, but this time, I get to stay over at this amazing place call TSM Merimas Villa which is walking distance to the tip of Borneo. And there were the 10 of us, so we got 1 villa.
So what did I manage to do this time?
1. Bee Farm (so I got to eat honeycomb again)
2. Watched the sun sets.
3. Caught the sun rise.
Best part? All for RM100 only!
I've always wanted to try jet-skiing and never was I able to, until that one fateful day when Jacqiee came back to KK with Tim and all thanks to her and Zoe, we had a chance to play on the Jet Ski.
Once we were far enough from the land we took turns on the jetski. One jetski can hold 3 people. If you notice the middle one is actually an experience jet-ski driver (I'm not sure what you call them).
He explained to us how the jetski works and what to do during emergency. Basically we just had to keep it straight and not turn too much cause high speed + turn = jetski overturn.
So we were just catching up in the boat while waiting for our turn and then suddenly Ivan came up with the Zoey challenge.
Rules: Stay on Zoe's jetski for 7 mins and you'll win. Sounds easy, but well, I barely lasted a minute and the longest was.... 4 minute plus? but that's cause Ivan took a lot of time out with his sudden leg cramps. So if you minus all his timeouts, he was prolly on that jetski for around 3 minute, tops.
So we head back to Marina and walked around and enjoy Sabah's beautiful sunset.
Credits given to Federick Woo for the pictures....which I conveniently used and watermark... Thankss Fedopedo.
And for those who're interested in packages that Zoe's company offer, you can check out this website: http://www.summercruiseholiday.com.my/
I think they even have island packages, other than water sports.
Hey, people! I know, first of my many posts in this new blog. A little excited and nervous tbh. Never used weebly. I've been wanting to change to this and has been putting it off since forever cause I found this a tad bit complicated? And you know how some people are gifted with logic or common sense for certain things. Like kids nowadays, gives them an iPad and 3 days later, it as if they designed the whole damn thing? Well truth is I'm not that tech savvy, especially not with this. So it's just pretty much trial and error here. ahahhah~ so wish me luck ;)
With that said, I realize I might as well start posting while getting used to it instead of just trying to get used to it whilst being unsure of what to get used to since I'm not even posting anything, so how do you learn theory without the practicals right? Baby steps...
And so I iz proud with at least getting this up another something on the Guide to KK not exactly a guide, but I hope you guys enjoy it.
